DSA Brand Proposal, p.1
When I arrived at Hunter, there were no brand guidelines. Offices in Student Affairs had already invested in their own "brands," to help students distinguish one office from the other and recognize their communications. Unfortunately, the results separated the offices from the Hunter College brand and confused students. Some even look like outside agencies. Many "logos" included contact information. Some offices had sub-brands.

Project brief: Design a brand for a notary whose target audience is people in stressful legal situations, such as an adoption or signing documents at a hospital bed, but also positive situations, such as setting up a partnership or a sale. We discussed the importance of the signature, the pen, and the agreement, including the tagline, "Celebrating the Deal." The client felt that the first draft was too formal and the second draft too casual.
