You can see some of the final images built from these sketches in Digital Painting, Digital Drawing, The Flying Lion, and Axumsit. I rarely do fast, motion-grabbing squiggles because dry eye has abraded my corneas, causing triple vision. But when there's action to be captured, such as Native American dancers, dogs in the park, or birds preening, I work methodically, start with general outlines, and wait for the movement to come around again so I can capture details. People are sometimes easier, because they are willing to hold still for a little while. I used pencil, markers, colored pencils, and pastels. I also sketch on my iPad with a pressure-sensitive stylus, and have been trying different drawing and painting apps.
