AI Generators and Tutorials for Images, Brands, Layouts, Tex

Image Generators

  • Try the generative AI tools in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Then try Adobe Firefly. The results are more polished, and some are spectacular.
  • Try perchance.org's free Pro Image Generator. I did, and created hundreds of iterations that helped me build a great composite model of a character. Also try their Alien Character Generator.
  • Freepik: Tagline: "Create great designs faster"
  • Diffusion Bee
  • Draw Things
  • Midjourney for artistic results
  • GPT-4o "is great for integrating AI images into your workflow."  I did not find it so easy. The layout at right took 30 minutes,  and could not be provided as an editable PDF.

Logo Generators

  • Canva  offers a limited number of uses per month, but it's a great way to try it out. You can enter text prompts (instructions) to generate logo designs and customize them.
  • Looka generates designs based on user input and offers extensive customization.
  • Design.com creates designs based on your business description and keywords.

Layout Generators

  • Sivi AI: generates designs from text input, focusing on templates for things like banner ads, social media posts, and blog covers. It allows for customization.
  • Adobe Express: quickly generate custom templates for social posts, flyers, and posters.
  • Canva: generates images from text and offers a Magic Design feature that creates designs based on user descriptions, plus tools and templates.

Website Generators

  • Innove.ai: allows users to interact with an AIto describe their website's purpose and desired features, then generates a customizable design.
  • WebWave: drag-and-drop interface and generative AI capabilities, simplifies website creation without coding. Some of our students have used Wix to develop their portfolios
  • Wix ADI: Artificial Design Intelligence (ADI) system offers a user-friendly experience for building websites. It's a good option for beginners
  • Durable: Their AI Website Builder promises to create a complete website in just 30 seconds, requiring no coding. (I have not seen this in action, but I'm curious. Aren't you?)

Text / Writing Generators

  • Most likely you have already used ChatGPT or MS CoPilot or Google Gemini
  • Read Zapier's explanation and list of favorites

Beginners — Learn with Free AIs

Non-designers, start here. Designers, see next!

Describe something, anything, even things that don't exist! Have fun and play! If you keep your expectations low,  you will be amazed, enjoy yourself, and may even find that creating cool stuff is addictive.

Perchance Image Generator

  1. Describe your image in the Prompt field
  2. Type anything you don’t want in the Negative prompt field. Usually not necessary.
  3. Choose an Art Style
  4. Choose a Shape (orientation)
  5. And — very important — choose the number of images.—no more than three at a time or it may stall.

Chat GPT

  1. Click on Tools and choose "Create an Image", or "Write or Code"
  2. Type your instructions
  3. Answer ChatCPT's questions about your content and format

  • For text, once it is created, you can  revise your draft
  • For images, be prepared to wait a bit. Once your image is created, you can suggest revisions

Ethics

Don't worry, your images will be synthesized from tiny mathematical patterns, not “copied.”

  • The only way an AI can use somebody else's photo or artwork is if you upload it to AI to use as a reference (That’s a no-no without permission.)
  • The person in the image is not a real person. Test it.  “A young man with red hair in a blue shirt is sitting in a brown leather armchair” will generate slightly different features every time, although they may look like brothers or cousins.
